Band Camps 2011
JAZZ BAND CAMP: This camp is open to any intermediate or advanced music student who wants to play jazz music. The students will play the blues, swing, "smooth jazz", and contemporary rock styles and they will also learn how to improvise and create their own riffs.
Date: July 5 - July 8 Tuesday-Friday
Time: 12:30 PM to 4 PM
Cost: $70
Grade: 8-12
Register & pay by 4 PM on June 27 to avoid a $10 late fee.
BEGINNER BAND CAMP: This camp is a wonderful way to introduce your child to an enriching musical experience. Beginner Band is for incoming 5th graders and any other student new to the RBCS band, regardless of their grade level.
Date: July 11- July 15 Monday-Friday
Time: 12:30 PM to 4 PM
Cost: $75
Grade: 5-12
Register & pay by 4 PM on July 5 to avoid a $10 late fee.
MARCHING ROOKIES CAMP: This camp is for first - time members to the Marching Knights Band, who will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of marching.
Date: July 18-July 22 Monday-Friday
Time: 9 AM to 12 PM
Cost: NO COST
Grade: 7-12
Register by 4 PM on July 11.
DRUM LINE CAMP: This camp is required for students in the Marching Knights Pit & Drum Line to instill the fundamentals of percussion instruments. Attendance is by audition only.
Date: July 18-July 22 Monday-Friday
Time: 8 AM to 4 PM
Cost: $75
Grade: 7-12

COLOR GUARD CAMP: This camp is for students in the Marching Knights Color Guard to prepare them for the fall marching season. Attendance is by audition only.
Date: July 18-July 22 Monday-Friday
Time: 8 AM to 4 PM

Grade: 7-12

MARCHING BAND CAMP: In this camp, the students will learn discipline, leadership, and marching skills while improving their musical qualities. The Marching Knights Band will perform at the half - time show of the RBCS football games, march in parades, and perform for marching competitions of the 2011 fall semester. This camp is mandatory for anyone who is going to be part of the RBCS Marching Knights Band or Symphonic Band.
Date: July 25-July 29 Monday-Friday
Time: 8 AM to 6 PM
Cost: $75
Grade: 7-12
