Coach: Varsity - Competitive Cheer
Mrs. Brown is a native of Kansas City, Kansas. She attended Marquette Unversity in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology. Upon graduation she enter the military where she served for seventeen years. God closed one door and opened another. God led her to Rocky Bayou Christian School to enroll her daughter (2006 graduate) and led Mrs. Brown into a teaching position. While teaching at RBCS, she earned a Bachelor of Education Degree in Primary/Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Education. She has been associated with the ministry for the last 18 years and has no plans to leave until the Lord tells her. Mrs. Brown's outside interest has been and continues to be music, drama, and puppet ministry. Fourteen years ago, God decided to expand her interest, by opening the door to work with the RBCS cheerleaders. Even though she was never a cheerleader and had no experience starting out, working with these young ladies has been a joy and blessing. Mrs. Brown improves her knowledge of cheerleading through attending yearly coach's conferences and receiving certifications in stunting and safety. Mrs. Brown's goal for the cheerleading program is to develop a squad that will be able to compete on a national level and open opportunities for the interested young ladies to compete for cheerleading scholarships on the collegiate level.
The Rocky Bayou Christian School Cheerleading squad is traditionally made up of young ladies from grades seventh through twelfth grades. Until six years ago these ladies only supported the girls and boys junior varsity and varsity basketball teams. Upon the establishment of the marching band program, they became part of that organization by leading the Marching Knights in parades. In the year 2008-2009 they began supporting the schools newly formed football team. These young ladies mission is to support and encourage the football and basketball teams to the best of their ability. They are ambassadors for Christ and the school when leading the Marching Knights in parades. In addition to supporting the two sports and the Marching Knights, a competitive cheerleading squad is formed from the young ladies who cheer for sports. These young ladies work additional outside hours to learn a routine that will be performed at different competitions in February and March. These young ladies cheer for Christ.
