Dear Parents,

As Development Director, I believe the time is right for RBCS to reestablish the Scrip program.  If you are not familiar with this program, it’s a means of fundraising that allows you to purchase ‘gift’ cards from national retailers at face value and gives Rocky a portion of that cost in return.  These funds will go toward the many needs of the school not covered by tuition.  The great thing about this program is no one has to sell anything.  It provides a convenient way to shop for any- and everything: gift-giving occasions, restaurants, entertainment, apparel, gas, and too many others to name here.  However, with just a little thought you, and Rocky Bayou, can both benefit. 

Many technological changes have occurred with the program that will make it easier for you to use and for us to manage.  You go directly to the Great Lakes Scrip Center website to view participating retailers and place your order.  After a quick registration process, you are ready to go.  Enclosed are detailed instructions to help you navigate through the entire process.  The instructions also give payment requirements and pickup information.  These instructions will also be posted to the RBCS website under Development.  Should you have questions, please call Kathy Graham at 678-7358, x330.

As a private school, fundraising is a critical element of meeting the needs of Rocky Bayou.  It is my continued desire to make fundraising for our parents more personally useful and expand our supporter base.  So please tell your family and friends about this program.  Together we can grow this into a highly successful and beneficial program for our school and students.

GREAT LAKES SCRIP ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS 

-Log on to www.shopwithscrip.com.  In the ‘Member’s Login’ section, click on ‘Not a Member?—Click here’. 

-The site takes you to the ‘Family Registration’ page.  Fill out the e-form, click ‘Accept’, and it takes you to the ‘Nonprofit Registration’ page.  Here you’ll need to put in the RBCS enrollment code—L4L486667578.  The code is case sensitive.  Once completed, you shouldn’t see this page again.  Now  you only need to login on future site visits to begin shopping. 

-When you login, it’ll take you to your ‘Account Dashboard’ where you can view order history, applicable announcements from RBCS, your profile information, and the nonprofit you support. 

-On this page you’ll find a row of buttons at the top.  The ‘Retailers’ button will list all retailers who participate in Scrip, the face value of each individual card, what discount percentage the school receives and particulars for using that card. 

-Next, when ready to order, click on ‘Order Scrip’.  It should show RBCS in the box.  If not, please click the drop down arrow and select.  Click ‘Next’, and it takes you to the ‘New Order’ page.  Here the retailers are grouped in ‘type’ categories.   Click on the category you need, then go through the pages of that category till you find your retailer.  Or, you can type in the retailer in the search box, and it’ll go right to it.  Type the number desired in the “Quantity’ box and click ‘Add to Cart’ button.  When your order form is complete, click the ‘Check Out’ button.  An order listing/summary will appear.  Please verify, then click ‘Finish Order’.   You’ll get an order confirmation page that says your order has been submitted to the coordinator.  **Please note that your order is not sent directly to the Great Lakes Scrip Center (GLS), but will appear on the coordinator’s page.  When the coordinator confirms payments have been made to RBCS and nothing has changed with the retailer that might affect the order, the coordinator will release the order(s) to GLS.  GLS then sends the orders back to RBCS, not the individual.  Individual orders must be paid before the coordinator will include it in the overall order. 

Payment will be cash or check.  Checks must be written to Rocky Bayou Christian School (RBCS). 
 

Payments may be dropped off at the Transportation/Shipping & Receiving office of the Business building.  Please place it in a sealed envelope with ‘Scrip’ written on it and drop it in the Development bin.  Pick up of orders will be in the same office from 7:45 to 8:15 AM and 3:00 to 3:30 PM. 

Beginning in Jan 08, normal ordering and payment deadlines will be the first and third Mondays of the month, 12:00.  Pickup will be the second and forth Wednesdays of the month. 

-For the near term, RBCS will only do personal pickup of orders.  If the program grows to support it, we will consider mailing orders to individuals.
